Region
We live in the Portland Metro region in the beautiful state of Oregon. Oregonians are very proud of our state. We are stewards to its mountains, high deserts, coast and fertile valleys. We have great wine, kayaking, and hundreds of miles of beautiful hiking trails. The beaches all along our expansive coastline are publicly owned and easily accessible.
Oregonians are among the friendliest people in the nation. We have fine schools and livable cities. In Portland we have theater, ballet, the symphony, plays and a thriving night life. This is a wonderful place to call home.
We are part of a larger network of Portland Cohousing Communities and meet regularly with them. (see links on side)
Local area
We are currently in unincorporated Washington County between borders of Portland and Beaverton, though we have a Portland address. We are part of the Beaverton School District (Raleigh Park Elementary, Whitford Middle School, Beaverton High School), the Washington county Cooperative Library Association (West Slope is closest branch), and the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (Garden Home and Cedar Hill are closest facilities). We are in the Jesuit to Canyon neighborhood in Next door.com. We are 3 blocks from the Valley Plaza Shopping center with Starbucks, Pizza Shmizza, Sambi Japanese Restaurant, a bowling alley/laser tag, and other shops.
Our Community
We have a dedicated wetlands and songbird habitat, optional shared meals in our beautiful dining hall, furnished workshop for creative projects, comfortable guest quarters, expansive patios equipped with BBQ and hot tub, child centered play spaces (both indoors and out), a gathering room for games and movie viewing, spacious aerie for yoga or meditation, cozy library with fireplace for relaxation, shared gardens with veggies and flowers.
