About Us
We have created our community of 26 households to provide a warm, supportive neighborhood where kids can enjoy our common green space while the adults sit and chat, where common meals and frequent gatherings increase our feeling of extended family.
What is Cohousing?
Cohousing is an intentional community of private homes clustered around shared space. Each attached or single family home has traditional amenities, including a private kitchen. Shared spaces typically feature a common house, which may include a large kitchen and dining area, laundry, and recreational spaces.

Living in Community
Our home
Cascadia Commons includes a dedicated wetlands and songbird habitat, optional shared meals in the beautiful dining hall, a furnished workshop for creative projects, comfortable guest quarters, expansive patios equipped with BBQ, charging stations for electric vehicles, child centered play spaces (both indoors and out), a gathering room for games and movie viewing, a spacious aerie for yoga or meditation, cozy library with fireplace for relaxation, and shared gardens with veggies and flowers.
Cascadia Commons has received a grant from the Tualatin Soil and Water Conservation District for restoration work in our wetlands. In the summer of 2023, we hired a tree service to remove non-native English Hawthorn trees. In the autumn of that year, we planted native trees, shrubs, and other plants. As we nurture the new plantings, we continue to work at removing invasive species and enhancing habitat for native wildlife. Thanks to TSWCD for helping us improve our property for human and non-human residents alike.
